A Martingale collar is a type of limited choke collar, made to slip over the dog's neck. With leash attached and properly adjusted, dog slip collars will constrict to the size of the dog's neck. There are two major advantages for the use of this collar. First, slip collars will not hurt the dog's throat like many choke collars do, especially the choke chain collar. The other great advantage is that the slip feature of the martingale prevents your dog from being able to back out of his collar - an important issue for the safety of your dog.
